About Us:
We are a national collaborative of nurses who share a common mission: to shed light on the full impact of inpatient nursing by creating a set of rigorously developed patient/family outcome measures linked to the Blueprint’s 9 domains of practice. Selected measures, matched to the needs of the patient population served, will be incorporated into regulatory (payment), accreditation and credentialling benchmarks.
Background: Nurses provide the majority of care in acute and critical care settings, yet current hospital/healthcare metrics capture only a narrow portion of what nurses do.
The Blueprint calls for a paradigm shift, moving from harm metrics to nurse-sensitive patient outcomes that reflect the presence of high-quality care. Nurses’ work includes preventing patient deterioration, teaching families, coordinating complex care, advocating for patient values, and building trusting relationships that make healing possible.
Through research, innovation, and collaboration, we are committed to building a future where nursing’s impact on patients, families, and health systems is measured and recognized.
