For (agencies): accrediting, recognition, credentialling agencies and regulators (CMS):
Our work provides accrediting and regulatory bodies with a framework to modernize hospital quality standards by measuring the full breadth of nursing care. By replacing punitive, harm‑focused indicators with precision‑based, nurse‑sensitive outcomes grounded in the nine domains of practice, agencies can more accurately evaluate prevention, symptom relief, functional recovery, relational care, family engagement, and care transitions. Incorporating these domains into core measures, supported by interoperable EHR data and reduced documentation burden, incentivizes high‑quality care, strengthens workforce sustainability, and ensures nursing’s essential contributions are visible and valued within national policy and accreditation systems.
