For Nurse Scientists:
Our work provides nurse scientists with a conceptual framework to advance patient-centered outcome measurement in acute and critical nursing. By defining and validating the nine practice domains, we provide a framework for rigorous, reproducible, population-specific metric development that moves beyond harm-based metrics. We hope that the Blueprint will stimulate research that truly captures the patient-family experience. By partnering with healthcare systems, nurse scientists can illuminate nursing’s true impact and strengthen the scientific foundations of the discipline.
